I went natural twice. This is my second time and I have been natural for a year and half now. I went natural March 2010 and kept a short cut bleached blonde for months until I move to NYC in July 2010 and chose to grow out my hair.
"It was cheaper and less maintenance at the time. I didn't transition very long, maybe 3-4 months. I wore 1/2 wigs and wigs to transition. and then after my 4th month,"
" I cut it into a mini-mohawk."
A "do" is keeping your hair moisturized and leaving it alone. I keep glycerine on had for when I come out of the shower. Also, I don't use the expensive conditioners for my wash-and-go's, I just use L'oreal Vive Pro Hydra Gloss conditioner. I'm not particular on which shampoo I use because I only shampoo 2x a month and normally that shampoo is a clarifying one that I dilute
"Because I bleached my hair and overlapped the bleaching (the problem with doing things yourself) I have to be very careful about how I do things."
"I rarely use heat and lots of low manipulation styles. I mainly wear half wigs and weaves.. when i desire a straight hair style. "
"I have noticed since I straightened my hair that I do need a trim and the texture of my hair where it is colored is different and more prone to frizziness"
If I could go back, yes I would do it again but without overlapping my color. I love my curls, the possibilities, and the low maintenance. I would never get a relaxer again. I love my hair just the way it is.
